Board Issues Notice to Contractors Licensed Pursuant to NRS 624 - June 2016
The board issued a notice that is being sent to contractors licensed pursuant to NRS 624.  The purpose of this notice is to clarify and ensure compliance with the the Contractor's Exemption as stated in NRS 623.330.  Please click here for more information.
 

Board Issues Notice to Nevada Residential Designers - June 2016
The board issued a notice to Nevada residential designers in order to clarify what is included within their scope of work.  The notice was issued due to a recent number of inquiries regarding what is included within the scope of work of a residential designer.  Please click here for more information.
 

New Nevada Residential Design Stamp Issued by the Board
All current residential designers will be receiving a letter via US mail from board staff regarding the recent board adoption of the new ‘Seal for Residential Designer’ under NAC 623.760 where the design of the seal has been changed to reflect a new round-shaped residential design seal. All residential designers will be required to obtain the new seal to comply with the regulation change. The license number series will no longer end in the letter ‘P’ but will now end in ‘RD’. Dewey Jones Residential Design Exam Scholarship Application
The Dewey Jones Residential Design Exam Scholarship is a $300 scholarship, fully-sponsored by Nevada residential designers. The scholarship is intended to reimburse the cost of the residential design exam to every candidate who passes all four parts of the residential design exam on the first attempt. Board Issues Notice to Churches and Ministries Expanding in Nevada
The board issued a notice that is being sent to churches and ministries expanding in Nevada. The purpose of the educational letter is to educate these groups about hiring a properly licensed design professional.

Board Issues Notice Regarding Withdrawing as Design Professional of Record
The board issued a notice regarding when and why a registrant can withdraw as design professional of record. The content of the notice was originally published in the Fall 2007 issue of Focus, in the article, “My Client Hasn’t Paid: Can I Withdraw as Design Professional of Record?”
 
 

 

Board Issues Notice Regarding RFPs for Public Works Projects
The board issued a notice that is being sent to Nevada public works departments, state and local government agencies and school districts.  The purpose of the notice is to educate these agencies about NAC 623.800, which prohibits registrants from including information about potential fees in response to an RFP for a public project funded with public monies.

The board issued a notice that is being sent to home owners associations around the state.  The purpose of this educational letter is to inform the associations and architectural review committees that architects and residential designers are both qualified under the law to design homes in Nevada.

New Regulations Allow Electronic Sealing and Signatures
The NSBAIDRD passed new regulations at the March 2006 meeting that allow registrants to sign and seal documents electronically.  Below is a document (Electronic Seal and Signature Information) that outlines how registrants can take advantage of the new regulations, as well as newsletter articles and specific regulation language.

Board Issues Notices to Furniture, Finishes, Fixtures and Equipment Vendors
The board issued a new notice to firms and/or individuals who specify furniture and may provide space planning services in Nevada.  The educational letter informs business owners about Nevada law and which services fall under the practice of architecture and registered interior design.
